Lilikoi Ginger Sorbet
The hot Hawaiian summer months were leaving us with some serious cravings to cool down. So, we decided to get to work in the Tastes of Aloha kitchen to help us beat the heat and indulge in something sweet.
Our Lilikoi Ginger Sorbet was just the thing we needed to end our summer day in cooldown mode. This delicious dessert includes the extremely fresh Lilikoi Wai Passion Fruit Puree from Da Vine and the Ginger Sugar from Salty Wahine.
The combination of these two Hawaiian-made ingredients make for a slightly sweet, slightly spicy ice-cold treat you're going to love!
Ingredients:

2 cups water

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup Salty Wahine Ginger Sugar

1 1/4 cups Da Vine Lilikoi Wai Passion Fruit Purée
Method:

Add sugars and water to a saucepan.

Bring mixture to a boil and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved

Remove from heat and allow it to cool but should be still warm

Stir in the passion fruit purée while the sugar/water mixture is still warm.

Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Add to Ice Cream Maker.

After the mixture sets, remove from ice cream maker into a container, place in freezer till firm.
